Jokela High School Massacre - 7/11/07

Today, in Finland, something terrible happened. Pekka-Eric Auvinen, 18, started shooting at Jokela High School. Eight people got shooted, then the killer shooted him self.
He had already gave lots of info in the youtube about this rampage.. He also made a video about the massacre...

This is very rare situation in Finland, but this made me think, why does this kind of Maniacs actually do this kind of things... What do you think?

EDIT2: I watched news and he's friend said that shooter said that he though USA Columbine school rampage was cool, he also had some videos in YouTube about it... He also used same weapon that Columbine shooter did, .22 SIG Sauer Mosquito

Nowadays with all the POS laws you cant discipline your children anymore without the law getting in the way, also with the "equal rights" crap women are now working instead of raising kids, so our kids are being raised by strangers. And then theres the fact that all these kids have access to guns. Put it all together and there ya go. It aint the games or the movies.

Well, we don't know if he was playing pc ^^ if yes, might be a. There was same thing once in the usa, and the creator of doom have seen how the killer's house was searched. Said, that he wasn't surprised, when he seen a box of doom being carried out as an evidence

I highly doubt that playing violent video games would cause someone to want to take another person's life, unless the person was already not completely there mentally.

The never-ending discussion about Video Games causing people to get more hostile, I belive its true to a point but not enough to go out and kill another humanbeing.

I belive that this case had nothing to do with games or movies, he was a nutjob(IMO), according to "aftonbladet" he said that "Humanity is overrated"(also seen on the picture above) Like I said before I cant translate all of the words that was said in the article but he admired the columbine shooters.

Games / Movies, no, a person with wrong(IMO) beliefs and morales, yes.

Maybe his parents didn't beat him enough, or make him go outside and play with other kids when he was younger.

I don't think violence is the media is the cause, obviously the kid had some other, serious problems. Sad that no one caught onto the fact that he was 'off' or was able to stop what he did.

This was not because of Videogames etc, he got mad/stupid, he was facistic and thought the people which he killed would be worthless and not deserve to live.
I would say that some other people influenced him with wrong and stupid information, nazi stuff etc. Wrong friends.

That's exactly the right answer. He was solituded, he was bullied at school, he had nazi and killing fantasies (Columbine, Vigrinia Tech, Hitler...) That's just sick..
