FINALY!!! i have power!!!

jeez, stupid "hurricane" irene knocked me with no power for the last couple days. ugh i know right? So hard with no power. I even didnt have to go to work.. wich made it worse because i had nothing to do and the local police were stopping people in the road and telling them they needed to go back to the local shelters that were set up. But, now that i have returned to civilization... i am quite content.

It wasnt for too long, but i live in an area of MASS were it is fairly populated, and with no power, there is pretty much nothing to do. Nothing was open. When things like this happen up here in the north east, a majority of the people are not ready for it. So what the state did... was shut everything down... The local Mall, all fast food places, all restaurants, "main street" were alot of shops are, was completely closed off due to powerlines and trees being in the roads. The beaches were closed due to the tide being.. IN THE FREAKIN ROAD!! I have a bunch of pics that i took, including a video of what it was like over here. It was pretty insane to say the least.

Like i said before, when storms like this hit up here, no one is ready for it.. because it almost never happens due to the climate region i live in... so people start to panic. I ended up going back to my parents house for a couple days just because my father had a couple generators running so at least they could have a hot shower and keep the food cold in the freezer. I lost ALL my food in my appartment. The basement was flooded and ruined alot of things that i still have in boxes : / But NStar is starting to get power back to a good amount of the population up here due to our local news paper just shitting all over them for the past couple days. Honestly the storm was not as bad as people saw it on the news. I mean, i wish it was a major storm, because the last one we had up here back in 1991, i was only 2 years old, so i dont remember much of it. But at the same time im glad it wasnt a huge storm because we still would be with out power. And since i live "technicaly" on an island... it would be a friggin nightmare if shit went down the gutter like it did 20 years ago.
