[Question] Selling a self-made addon ?

I know, I'm fairly unknown on these forums, mainly because it's been a while since I've decided to be an active & contributing member on some forums..

But aside from that useless information, I'm a programmer. And based on THIS post, I've made my own WoW addon that automatically loops through all the people currently connected to the server and invites the guildless people. It also remembers who it has already invited, so it doesn't re-invite afterwards (to avoid guild inviting the same player hundreds of times). You can clear this list by typing /ginv clear.

FYI: The macro of that post only loops through the current /who list and doesn't execute the /who itself. The adddon, however, loops through all people from levels 1 > 85 automatically + invites guildless people.

But my question is ; Is it allowed to sell the addon on MMOwned ? And if so, what would be the best section to post it in ?

Please avoid replying with "useless to sell an addon" or "useless" or other non-constructive comments. It's an addon. Lots of people don't know how to write it themselves. And yes, it works incredibly well. Nothing you have to do yourself, everything is automated.

It's just a little bit more than that .. And quite effective.

As you might know, guild levels now exist. From level 5, 5% of all looted gold goes to the guild bank.
Let's say this is 80 copper per mob (average). At higher levels, it's counted to be more than a silver, so 80c should be a good average value.
80c per mob, with about 80 mobs per dungeon (there are 100+ mobs in a lot of dungeons, but yeah..), that comes to 64 silver per dungeon per person.
64s per dungeon per person, multiplied by 200 members = 128 gold if everyone just runs a little dungeon.

Free gold.

200 members is VERY fast to get btw, I just ran it 3 or 4 times (within a 20-minute timeframe) and we're already at 200.
Members also means guild xp, means guild level up. Aside from that, you can also sell the guild (yes, I've already seen people in Trade Chat say WTB guild lv5, at least 100 members).

You probably can't sell an addon. Tho you can probably get some money for addon-coding requests.

Your reasoning why it's better made no sense at all. There are free addons out there that do more than your addon seems to do, so no one will pay for it.

Wrong. I just tend not to go into much detail about an addon I'm not sure about selling.

Hacking, botting, selling addons. I don't think you need to ask a member of MMOwned if they're willing to break the ToS or not (no generalization, I mean the active botting kind of people).

What he means is that your addon will simply get banned and ppl will have to refund. And if you dont go into detail we can't really help you dont you think? I can't think of a lot more than the other addons do.. Automatically send msges, remember people, ignore certain ppl etc

I would ask no more than $5 for it, for obvious reasons. (: It's not a program, but an addon. $5 including updates.

True, I've already noticed that addon. However, even if it's the same for a few functions (the auto-inviting), I can assure my addon has more functionality + interface, etc.
