    [PC Broke?] €1300 1-year old PC makes high pitch sound

    For about a month now, my computer has been making this high pitch sound which appeared to be random.
    Sometimes louder then other times, usually a constant pitch which I've forcefully grown accustomed to.

    Just now while browsing Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft I found this neat animation on mouse over (the mealstrom) and noticed that the pitch wasn't random at all, all this time.
    Something as small as that makes the high pitch sound even louder when it animates.

    This is NOT the favourable 'hum' all pc's have, it's more like that annoying mobile phone sound that was a hype a few months back for teens in school.

    What part of my PC is causing this? Can I correct it myself? Halp!

    Weird, my old Dell inspiron does this somewhat infrequently. I'll be in another room and just hear it go off. Sometimes it changes pitch too. Last only about 10 seconds and seems to be more frequent for a week then I won't hear from it for a month.

    After a bit of blatantly stupid exploration, I found that the fan on http://anhtuan.vn/anhtuan/images/pro...el_775_fan.jpg (looks very much like it anyway) is causing the pitch.

    Thusfar been suggested to buy a new heatsink (i was told this is what the image is) all together, but I have to make due with what I have for a while longer. (even the cheapest suggestions.. just dont..)

    Would really appreciate some insight as to how to fix this

    Few questions;

    - Did you ever 'hit' your pc while it was on? like giving it a kick?
    - Did you moved the pc while it was on?
    - What case do you use?
    - When was the last time you cleaned it?
