-Vent exploit- How to Kick someone without ADMIN!!

DISCLAIMER!
I know this is not World of Warcraft but 99% of users who play WoW use vent so I thought i would add this here. Also, this does not work on 100% of the vents but it should work for the majority of them. Lastly, this will only work on guests. Which is perfect because most people are guests when they join a random pug, arena, or a guild vent. Use at your own risk.

Ok, this is what you are going to do:

1. You have to enable your vent to allow it to open up multiple clients at one time. To do this, simply right click your ventrilo icon on your desk top and click "PROPERTIES". Then, where it says "TARGET", you want to add a space and -m.
So it would look something like

"C:\pgrm\ventexe" -m

alright. Second step.


Now to the meat:

with your first vent you want to log on the server and scope out the person you want to kick from vent. Once you have his name, open up your second vent and create a user with the exact same name. Once you're done, just click join and watch as he gets kicked for having a duplicate name!!

There you have it! How to kick noobs from vent without being admin! . Have fun and don't abuse it (too much)

No vent worth disturbing is dumb enough to actually disable duplicate nicknames. There IS a way to know who it is, looking at the timestamps of who logged in and out, loggrepping the IP and finding out which one has the most history and under which nicknames. This will only get you banned from a vent faster than posting CP on 4chan if the admins / mods / users reporting aren't retarded.

I would like to know how this is "Fail". This method works. You want me to make a video demonstrating it? Last I heard, it is "FAIL" if it does not work. Ok I was wrong about it being undetectable, I will cross it out.

You prove my point. This works because they DON'T disable duplicate names.. if duplicate names was enabled, even if you cloned the name, the person would not get booted off.

Lastly, you can't just say that "no vent is dumb enough to...".? There are hundreds or maybe thousands of vents people use in one realm. That is like me saying all the mods on 4chan are retarded so the CP thread didn't get deleted for an hour.

You know, now that I think about it. It might be an option from the host, I don't see any options on my vent or host that has anything to do with duplicate user names, only duplicate IPs.

Might want to test your theory on different vents. Feel free to test mine. Just vent PM me that it's you so I don't ban you. ( Vent in signature )

This only works if the name you are using is set to "In reserved list" under the user editor.
