    Download Speed - doesn't add up :/

    Sorry if this is in the wrong place, if it is please move it to the appropriate forum.

    I am having trouble understanding how I have a 10mbps connection yet when I download things I am capped at a 1.3mbps download rate...
    I have called my ISP and told them that my speed was not working, they just said your speed is fine and said it was probably your computer. So if anyone can explain to me how this works out?

    There's a difference between MegaBITS and Megabytes.

    10MBit per second/8 = 1.25 megabytes per second.

    Your speed is fine.
