Careful with your own gold!

I recently found out that a fellow player's gold was deleted from his mailbox because it sat there for more than a hour. When he petitioned a GM he was told that any mail containing gold is subject to deletion after an hour due to the fight against gold farmers, and that his 760 gold would not be restored.

Seven hundred sixty gold of his own money that he earned playing the game the way it was meant to played. He did not buy the gold from an outside source, he did not scam the gold from innocent players, he did not borrow the gold from a friend.

It was DELETED by a World of Warcraft Game Master in suspicion of illegal activity, but when confronted and proved wrong, they denied him his property and said there was nothing they could do about it. Now he's thinking about leaving the game, and I really don't blame him.

There is a petition on the Customer Service Forums, keep it bumped it you agree this is bullsh!t!

>_< thats so stupid. i can understand them deleting the gold had they proof your friend was scamming or something along those lines. deleting it under suspicion is absurd. its also wrong of them to delete mail containing gold from gold farmers. firstly, there is NO way that blizzard could ever know you bought the gold. perhaps you know the sender outside of the game, and he is sending you mail. while i doubt this would ever be the case, its an excuse that at least proves blizzard wrong in their fight to end gold farming during the transaction. and secondly, while gold farming will hurt the game economy, there is nothing you can really ever do. ofc people will do this. its the nature in everything. is it wrong for players to farm in game quest items to sell on AH? isnt that the same thing? i think blizzard is flawed in their logic, but then again they ARE the creators of the game and thusly their rules apply. =/

I usually go get my money right away if i send some. I don't even bother sending money if i don't intend on using it for something immediatly.

If I send myself gold I always do it when i got time for it. Else I can use it on my main and many buy something later.
