[History] A Scamming Legend...Frank Abagnale (A True Story)

Frank Abagnale, FBI Fraud Check Agency. Creator of major security encoders for banks, license plates, and birth certificates.

What you don't know. Is that this guy was this biggest fraudster of time.

Frank Abagnale was a young 16 year-old when his father fell into debt. His mother was no more interested in his father with no money. One of his father's co-worker's was beginning to visit daily.

And Frank's mother was going out with her friends more often.

Before you know it, Frank's parents were divorced. There Frank was... A 16 Year-Old in the middle of Family Court in-beetween his parents with one question.

"Who would you want to live with?"

Frank didn't know. He took off running, and the judge made a 10 minute recess. Frank ran-away and went to the Train Station.

He saw his mother in 7 years...
His father he never saw again...

On his 16'th birthday, he'd gotten a check book from his father. The check had contained 25$ and over the years he'd saved up to get 280$.

He took a train around the world.

He lived writing bad checks, daily. But he knew one day it was going to end. He needed a plan.

At this time he was in New York, and when he was walking down the street he saw an Air Pilot, Co-Pilot, and 1-4 Flight Attendants.

They were going into a hotel, and that's what Frank wanted to become... A pilot.

A few blocks down the street was Pan American Airlines. One of the most trusted Airlines in America.

He called the consecutive office, saying that he lost his uniform and he was a pilot with a flight in 3 hours.

They gave him an adress to there suppliers tailor shop.

When he went in, he got a suit, offered to pay cash or write a check. But the tailorer told him to fill out a employee form for Pan American Airlines and that they'd take the expense from his next paycheck.

Frank learned the customs of flight, and within several mere weeks he was riding in the Pilot's seat. Getting free rides to around the world.

The airlines were charged for the hotel's he stayed at, and the food he ate.

    He was living the life.

After joining the airlines, he took his old check book and re-routed the checks to Pan American Airlines.

To get the stamp's from the Airlines on the check he did the most hilarious thing.

He'd buy Toy Models of planes from Pan American Airlines, remove the labels from the back of the toy plane and place it on the checks.

Frank had cracked everything, and became a millionare before he was even allowed to drink...

Frank Abagnale was amazing... He impersonated a Teacher's Assistant, Doctor, and an Attorney without a suspection.

A flight attendant recognized him in France from a wanted poster, and turned him in 1969, and he was kept in prison for many years due to him stealing from Multiple Countries, however he had due time in only Sweden and France. When he had forged every country.

After several years in Prison, Frank Abagnale was offered a job with the FBI. To help the FBI prevent frauds and scams since he had once done it himself.

He caught some of the FBI's most wanted and as I said made a brand new major security system. Making Frank Abagnale a millionare, making 10 times the money he did when he was using fraud.

Frank Abagnale, A legend to me and a legend to us all.

(Read more about him on Wikipedia here)

Yeah, if this story interests you, check out "Catch Me If You Can". I really don't like DiCaprio, but it was an excellent movie.

Thanks for sharing this amazing story I read it all (that is amazing for me to read) but I think this belongs in the general section since it has nothing to do with a scam guide or anything xD.

    A true legend though.
