    Software every gamer should have!

    1. Xfire

Xfire is a chat client for gamers. It the best chat client to use while gameing. It's low computer power costs, and the easy way to fast respond to whispers while ingame without ALT+TAB out of game makes it genuis!
If someone whispers you while ingame a little box appears in your bottom-right corner with the message. The you just "X+ScrollLock" to open the chat window ontop of your game without it returning you to desktop. The client also records your total played into a profil so everyone can see how nolife you are.

    2.WhatPulse
WhatPules is a program the counts how many times you click your mousebuttons, how many letters you type and how many miles you have moved your key. The it uploads your stats to a profile. It is kinda useless but it's fun to see how many times you type on the keyboard each day etc. The program does not record what you type.

WhatPulse | Taking pulsing into another generation

    3.Fraps
Fraps allows you to record whats going on ingame, so you can save your best headshots or PvP kills etc.

    Site:
FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software

    4.CCCP

Despite from it's awfull name it is a genuis thing. CCCP stands for "Combined Community Codec Pack" and thats a codec pack originaly created for watching anime etc, but it has developed to one of the best codec packs you can get.
It also includes Media Player Classic which is a great media player to watch movies in.

    5.Avast!
Even a "leet" gamer needs securety on his/her computer. It is many different programs out there. All the pouplare ones is pretty much equal, but I like Avast! the best. It got a good webshield thats detects connections to sites with spyware/trojans and other nasty things on it. If you in some way managed to get infected Avast! have several good options for removing and remove the infections.

    Site
avast! antivirus - high security and protection from malware with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in

    6.Steam
This sounds weierd, but I think Steam is a must for every gamer, it's a good launcher for games, and clears away alot of dekstop space because you can add Non-Steam games to it. Steam is also a good place to buy games, they a general cheaper than stores (atleast in Norway) and it updates the games for you each time it get's a new patch. You can also never loose the CDkey for the game because the games you buy from stem will be stored in a "My Games" tab. Here the games can be downloaded unlimited times if you ever have to uninstall the game and want to play it later. Roumers also says that they are going to make a tool thats uploads your profiles/saves to theire servers and stored there for ever, so the next time you install the game you don't have to do it all over from the start!

    Site:
    Welcome to Steam

    7.Ventrilo Mix
All "leet" gamers uses voice chat! Often different guilds/clans have different voice chat clients for theire servers, ventrilo mix got'em all! It includes Ventrilo version: 2.1, 2.2 og 2.3 + TeamSpeak2 in one packed!
