I hear a background noise when using my (Zalman surround sound) headphones. It can change if I move the mouse, or switch application windows, but is always there. To lessen its effect I turn the 'wave' setting on my computer to full and then volume to only 1 or 2 so that it usually overrules the noise, but it is still audible :/
It has nothing to do with sound settings, I have changed all of my settings on my normal audio settings and SoundMAX settings, to no effect (Obviously without mic, etc...). I have unplugged cables / removed them from the back of my computer to no effect, and if I plug my headphones into the front jack of my computer I get the exact same thing.
Any other ideas? I have sort of moved around the cables in my computer (that could be interferring) but to no effect so far. I have heard that it could be a lack of rubber stoppers between mobo and case, cd audio cable from cd/dvd drive to mobo, PSU cables / unit itself, or faulty sound card.
I am trying to get a new sound card to solve the problem, but any ideas / others with this problem? :/
