Legalities for donations on infringing material?

I was curious if anyone here on MMOwned have proper knowledge about
how donations via PayPal is considered from a legal standpoint when it comes
to illegal material such as modelediting/reskins; is donations freed from any
chance of being sued or does the fact I'm getting money at all by doing what
I do enough reason not to set up a PayPal donations account since the risks are too high?

Also I know the guess on many people's tongues would be that donations
can't really be considered profiting and therefore not illegal, but I really want a solid answer if there is
any to get. Hopefully with something backing it up to show for... (I know it's alot to ask)
