you can check this in your router-config, which mac-adress is currently using what ip-adress.
I recommend you to encrypt your wireless network with wpa2 psk.

in an internet browser.
I would google around and see what the best way to make it safe is.
Netgear

You should be able to access your administrator panel through your web browser. If you go to Start>Run and type in cmd you will get a command prompt. Type in ipconfig and look at your default gateway. That is the IP address of your router. In my case this is 192.168.2.1. Just type that into your web browser address bar and it should bring up the admin panel. It looks like your default password is "admin" with no user name. www.default-password.info/netgear will give you other default netgear passes if that doesn't work.
I have a different router (still Netgear tho) and potentially a different interface, but on the left hand side there is a menu item called "attached devices" that will show you all attached pcs. Your PC is identified by the IP address that you saw in the ipconfig window. Any others are interlopers (unless, of course, you have other devices attached yourself). The IP table that it provides should also indicate MAC addresses, which are basically the physical identifier for thei'r network card. You should be able to set permissions based on these pc's mac addresses or else only allow those that you want to let through, which is probably easier in the long run.
Security setup info can be found on Netgear's website. Specific info for your router is here:
kbserver.netgear.com/products/dg834gv1.asp
They have a link to the security info there.
Hope this helps.

if you don't recognize names, or don't know name of certain computer, go to that computer, go to START - > RUN - > type "cmd" (with no " ") then type ipconfig
this will be the IP the computer is using
done that ty
Now what do i do if there is an intruder?
