My dubstep Gig August poster/logo

Me and a few friends are putting together a big warehouse dubstep gig in august and i needed to make the poster/advert/logo for it

This is what i came up with...

Love the background and I'm glad that you changed the subtext somewhat. However, posters are usually quite informative. For example: What artists will be there? What time and date is it? Where is it? You usually want to have some contact information in there as well in case of any questions.

The poster works very well though, you immediately recognize it as a dance/electro/dubstep event and that's very important in posters. You also created some interest at the first glance, that is what most people also get. So in order to attract people you need to create interest in a split second and the bright and vibrant colors do just that.

However, it is too empty for a poster, just text and background is rarely enough information for an informative poster. Without any idea what it is supposed to be, I'd said it's an album cover. Partially due to the aspect ratio but mostly because of the lack of information. I don't know, maybe this is just an early poster to create interest? Regardless, information is vital for most posters - at the very least a web address or an email address.

Finally, about the text effect: It is a cool effect, but the tone is too dull in my opinion, I'd use some light and some dark lights to even further enhance the "disco" feel.

Nooo, dont think of it like a poster in the street... Think of it as something to put on facebook to create awareness... an event page image... if you understand? This will be the footer image on the website which underneath will have more information...

So it isnt like a poster, its more just a teaser poster, giving the name and date if you get me?

ah I see, in that case it works very well. Information is not as important right now, but my other points still apply

Just had an awsome idea... Does anybody know how in after effects... i could make the gradient waves gradient colours? like scroll across making different colours if you get me?
