I've never made one of these threads before..
Anyways, I had to create a movie-ish poster for my philosophy class and below is what I ended up with:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description & Reasoning:
My poster encapsulates ideas of Nihilism and Existentialism. The male floating in the middle of the poster represents the average human who is torn between believing in some form of heavenly father or that there is no meaning whatsoever to life whatsoever. The confusion is given a physical manifestation (somewhat) in this void I created.
In the void there is absolute nothingness, making both statements null (you are neither alive nor dead) and allowing for only thought, a single consciousness. Also, by asking if the boy will escape, I am bringing the real questions: "Will he ever figure it out? Is there a God? Why am I here?" to light and taking it all back to the main concepts of metaphysics and the fabric of our reality.
The contrasting colors are meant to be connotative for life and death, good and evil, light and dark etc. (one side being black and white while the other a bright blue). This was meant to not only make the poster more attractive but give it a bit of depth.
Also, the white and dark angel wings were meant to represent religion as truth and as a falsity at the same time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeaa. So you can criticize if you wish, I only dabble in photoshop once in a blue moon and I put about an hour and a bit into this piece. I think it encapsulates the concepts I wanted to touch on though.
