Hello guys, I am going to show you how to create an animated avatar kinda like what blizzard staff use on their forums. Whats really cool about this tutorial is that you dont need to use it only for avatars. with this tutorial you will learn how to place video clips into sigs with just following my steps.
Learn how to create this!:
*This is not for beginners. General photoshop and imageready knowledge is recommended*
Programs used in this tut:
1. Photoshop
2. Imageready (this program cannot be bought anymore since adobe eliminated it from cs3 but you can find copies on p2p programs, just search)
3. WoW model viewer (you dont need this program but it is highly recommended. You can take the clips from anywhere including in game)
4. Fraps. (I bought my copy but there is a trail version)
5. sony Vegas 6 (Any software that can transform .avi into .mov, works)
Steps:
1. First you need to download wow model viewer. Once you do, donot set up the gear on the character, though have the names ready.
2. Now set up the animation you want the character to have. Also change the speed of the animation as it really effects the mood of the pic.
4. Start up fraps and start recording. Place the gear on the character and once you do leave fraps recording for a few more seconds.
5. Now open the video you just recorded into sony vegas. Make all the adjustments you want. Remember to cut the unecesary parts of the video. Afterward, render the video as a .mov (quicktime) video.
6. Follow this tutorial I made on how to create the blizzard border but dont go further than step 3. http://www.mmowned.com/forums/graphi...rd-avatar.html
7. Now open imageready. "open" the .mov into your workspace. File+Import and click on the file. You can choose just a portion of the video or the whole thing. This part takes skill because you need the video to blend; it is a repeating animation afterall. I find placing your finger on the monitor and just eyeing it out works well.
8. Now click ok and change the image size to 110x83 (or so)
9. Go back to photoshop a import the blizzard border into imageready.
10. Move the border into the animation. Make sure it is placed on the top layer. Some aligning might be necesary in order to align the border into the right position.
11. Now crop the image around the border.
12. Now save the gif and you are done.
Hopefully you learned something by reading this tut. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
