Not that bad. Can see the ripple effects.
Dont mean to flame, but i dont like it, just my opinion though. Good try!
Reasons:
Seems the render is a stock, may have a few effects placed on it, but its still pretty stock.
Background consists of a lens flare and a few colour smudges.
Take a few tutorials is my advice, nice try though, keep it up!
-REMEMBER-
Im not the only person in the world, someone will like it.
I beg to differ Pukka, i dont think the simplicity of a piece of art has much to do with what if offers. I think the signature looks great the colors all fit and seemingly simple lens flare sets off the entire signature. Seems like it could be the sun showing through the forest upon a night elf.
For your first signature, it's a really good piece. The text needs more work though, and some better placement. Don't place it too far away from the focal nor too close to it. Something in between is good.
The best thing is that even though you're a beginner, you set the depth quite good. Light should be coming more from the right, not in the corner. (look at the render, study it's lightning and shadows. Apply the light from the appropriate location). The render could use some more sharpening as well, in my opinion. You don't want your entire signature to be sharp nor blurred. The background on yours is quite blurred/rippled, having a sharpened render really brings the entire signature up.
Overall, it's a very nice piece. Good work.
Oh, pukka. Even though it probably is a stock, he still did a great job and I wouldn't recognize it if the render wasn't there. It's clearly altered and hence it doesn't matter as much.
Could prove useful later on if you attempt to work with renders only. Perhaps use a different stock in compilation of the render.
Keep it up.
