    [TUT]style desktop VISTA

    Hello!

Seen quite alot of tutorials on the internet about how to style your desktop, not alot of them were for Vista, if not any of them. So I decided to write one myself, enjoy!

I guess some of you guys uses vista and would like to style your desktop a 'bit!

Here's a link of how the desktop can look if you follow this guide.
Of course you don't have to follow it to the letter, as you will notice
Do what you like yourself, as I'll be doing in this tutorial.

Another thing I'd like to tell you before you read the guide, (if you even read it), is that it's very educational and alot of pictures, so no complains about you get it without pictures, etc.

    My desktop, Before; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/--...-skrivbord.png

    My desktop, After; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/-mittskrivbordd.jpg

    ----START----

    1. You will need three (two) programs to complete this guide(the 3rd isn't necessary but will make it cooler )

    1. TuneUp Utilities 2009, TuneUp America - Download /
    2. Samurize, Samurize.com - News /
    3. Rocketdock, Not necessary but gives you a cooler desktop.
    Download RocketDock - RocketDock.com

    Download these.

    *** TuneUp Utilities 2009 ***

We'll start with installing the theme to your computer, install TuneUp Utilities 2009!
When you have installed it just start the program and click"Customize Windows" and then "TuneUp Styler"

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/tuneup.jpg

As you probably will notice another windows will pop-up, in this window there will be alot of alternatives and styling stuff you can do with your computer.
Let's go back to the theme, and we can take other later.
    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/visual.jpg

As you should know by now is that you're going to click where i drawed my cute little red triangles i.e, click on Visual style and you will come to the page where you install themes.

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/temanadd.jpg

There's the pic, well. but anyways, click on "Add" and then you click "Download Visual...".
A website will open where you can choose the theme that fits you the best.If I remember right,it will be pretty small pictures and I'm not sure that you can zoom 'em in either but but check as good as its possible. Or try your way with different themes! it's possible, *snapping fingers*, that's how quick it goes to change!

The theme I'm going to use is "Aero 4074 Remix" .
but you can have the pick of the basket as said.

When you have choosed the theme that you like you just need to press it on the website and it will automaticlly load to the program, so all you have to do is click "Apply" down in the right cornern
Possibly that you will have to click "Continue testing" or something like that! But anyways, you should be able to do it

You've now installed the theme, Nice work! (a)

Other things you can change in the program:
    *Boot Screen
    *Startup Logo
    * Logon Screen
    *Speed-Up Your Computer!

The first three things works just as when you installed the theme! click "Add" and then "Download.." , and "Apply"

    Let's get moving on?

    *** Samurize ***

Samurize is program that reads in config-files made in Samurize Config Editor. With help of this editor you can do a bunch of stuff, e.g the Tv-tableau I've got on my desktop also the clock up in the left corner You can have alot of fun with the program if you know what you are doing!

    Back to topic,

I will now describe how you add the tv-tableau and the clock to the desktop.

Install Samurize, meanwhile Samurize is installing maybe you've got time to check the following links (a) Download the files in the links, will be needed for some stuff in Samurize

    File1; http://www.samurize.com/modules/mydo...id=10&lid=2127 (the tv-tableau script)

    File2; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/-awesome.rar
(My Samurize Config, use this and the tv-tableau and the clock will appear.)

    File3; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/tv.rar

    File4; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/Images.rar

    Hopefully you've installed Samurize now
anyways, start Samurize! This time a window with samurize won't appear, but samurize starts as a tray down in the icon table ( down right corner)

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/-samurizee.jpg

Now un-zip the files two you downloaded a while ago.
Start by un-zip the file GetTV_DX, unzip it to your samurize map, and then into "Scripts" i:e:
    C:/Program/Samurize/Scripts.

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/-scripts.jpg

    Now un-zip awesome.rar , un-zip it to:
    C:/Program/Samurize/Configs

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/-configs.jpg

Not so much to do now, right-click the Samurize-icon down in the right corner
A little roller will open and what you are going to do is to click on
"Select Config file" , you will se "awesome.ini" laying there and waiting to be clicked at, comon do it!
Hopefully the yellow clock and the tv-tableau will show up on your desktop

If you wanna remove the clock just click "Edit Config" and then mark the clock, and click delete.

Some people had problems with getting the clock and the icons to the tv.tableau to work, this is now history I´ve found the problem!

File3 & File4 that you downloaded you will need to put in these maps:

    File3 (tv.rar) unzip to C:/Program/Samurize/Skins.

    File4 (Images.rar) unzips to C:/Program/Samurize.

reload your config and the icons and the clock should work!

That was all for this chapter, now we've really got nothing left! I wouldn't say it's hard to install rocketdock ? ;p well it isn't if you follow the guide

    *** Rocketdock ***

Install Rocketdock. And meanwhile you are installing it download this iconpack which you are going to use to change symbols Of course you don't have to but I think it looks good

Iconpack1; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/Dark.rar (If you're going to use a dark background)

Iconpack2; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/Light.rar (If you're going to use a light background)

These files is going into C:/Program/Rocketdock/Defaults !
Doesn't matter what the map's name is, just extract the files there and everything will work out along the road

    -- Start rocketdock! --

Then , as you know the program willopend at the top of your desktop.Start by removing the icons you don't want there, and then you just drag folders, games etc you wan't there.

To remove icons, just drag it to some random place on the desktop, then it'll dissapear

Add icons; The same thing, just that ju drag the files TO rocketdock

You've got alot of text icons to your rocketdock and what we're going to now is to change the icons so it looks like text( like I've got on my desktop ),
OBS: It's not sure that a icon to every program is there, but you will have to do it with the icons that are available, or just skip this part.

Right-click the icon that you want to change.

Click "Icon Properotes" ( think it says so, either way it's the option at the top of the roller that comes out) ,

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalma n01/rocketdockruta.jpg

Click the "+" wich you've got under the white box the the left. Another window will open where you will choose the folder of the icons,
    Choose C:/Program/Rocketdock/Defaults /Dark.

    pic; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalma n01/darkk.jpg

When you press OK the icons will be shown to the right and you can choose what icons you want to the folders/games etc you want on your rocketdock

Another thing is how you remove the background of your rocketdock.
Right-click and press "Icon Properties" then "Style" and choose the style to blank.
