[What?] What do I need to setup shop...

    Let's start at the beginning.

Last summer I was very fortunate and got to take a course on Maya, which was super friggin awesome. That program is so beast...

Anyway, we were using Macs, and they had full Photoshop installed. I used the program, loved it, and realized recently that paint just....won't....cut...it.

So I am coming to y'all for some help:

    1) Where can I get a full version of Photoshop? (Preferably legally )
    2) How much will it cost?
    3) It runs on Windows right?
    4) Do I need any supporting software?
    5) Do I need anything else?

    Thanks in advance guys.

Also, it's ok if this goes here right?

[What?] What do I need to setup shop...

    1) You can buy it or 'find' it on the internet. Otherwise there's a post on these forums that gives away licensed adobe products free and legally, but I'm not so sure.
    2) $699.
    3)Yes.
    4) That's optional.
    5) Also optional but brushes, textures, etc is all findable on the net.

    And, right forum.

    1) Don't think so, perhaps shared lounge.. Can't recall.
    2) Perhaps, not sure.
4&5) There are several free plugins, brushes, patterns etc and also a few you have to pay for. Those who cost are often more professional.

You should do good with freebies though.
