[HELP] How to: make a renders background transparent

How can I make a non transparent render into a transparent render, so I can use it for ps cs3 etc?

Copy and paste that onto a document with transperent background then erase the white and save as a .png file

Or you can "render" or "cut" the image by selecting the Pen tool, then click on Paths on the top menu bar. Go around the image complete the path then right click then on the menu that drops down click "Create Vector Mask".
