    [Guide] Customize Your Title!

    Guide: Customize your Title!
    First off;
    1. Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
    That was a search for the keyword "Title" in the model edit guides forum.

    Second off;
    I'm not the founder of any of the programs included here. And i didn't upload any of these programs either. I simply made this guide myself to help others. It's simple when you get it.

    So...
    You'll need MyWarcraftStudio
    http://www.mediafire.com/?mnny5m2lnzi
    DBC Editor
    http://filebeam.com/864bb3d535bcdc256278349d44612027

    You start off by launching MyWarcraftStudio.
    Press the button "File(F)" upp the left and "Open MPQ Archive... Ctrl+O"
    Find your way to your World of Warcraft folder. Then open up "Data" folder in your World of Warcraft folder and proceed by opening up "EnGB"/"EnUS" depending on wich continent you play at. EnGB is for Europe while EnUS is for America. Choose patch-enGB.MPQ in the EnGB Folder, and you got that MPQ opened. (patch-enUS.MPQ if you live in America *Duh*)

    Simply follow the instructions in this image.
    A: Ensure that you got the correct MPQ folder opened up
    B: Ensure that your file type is showing "*.dbc" files. This makes it alot easier to locate the correct file.
    C: Find this file. Click it once to mark it. Then simply right click on it and follow step D and E;
    D: Press the "Copy Treepath" button. Then paste it into Notepad
    The treepath should look like this "DBFilesClient\CharTitles.dbc"
    E: Right click on the file again. But this time, press "Extract File To..."
    Choose a simple location, your Desktop for instance.

    Then we start the edit itself. Launch up DBC Editor. Just as in MyWarcraftStudio, press "Open" located under the "File" menu. Locate CharTitles.dbc file, that if you followed this guide, should be on Desktop. Choose it. If you've done it all correctly, alot of numbers will appear, aswell as titles. For instance, the very first title, ID 1 is "Private %s". The "%s" represent your name location in the title. So this step is simple. Type anything in the title you wish to change. For this guide, we'll change "Private %s" to "You can call me %s" wich will appear ingame (For you only) <You can call me [your name]> instead of Private [your name]. You dont need that %s in the title edit. It could aswell be "I'm made of Wood" and your characters name wont even appear. It will be the text <I'm made of Wood" instead of the respective title. Anyway, make your edits.
    (Tip; If the text resets when you press "Save", try typing in the custom text and press on another title. And it'll change. Then save, and it should work)

    When thats done, open MyWarcraftStudio again. Press the button "Pack(P)" and "Create MPQ Archieve" then name the MPQ file: patch-#.MPQ <-Keep in mind, it must be a small "p", the # should be any number that aint used already. patch-1 and patch-2 use to be taken by blizzard already. Name it something like patch-9.MPQ and dont forget to type "MPQ" with big letters.

    Now you got yourself an empty MPQ/Patch file in MyWarcraftStudio. Again, press "Pack(P)" and "Add file to archieve...". Press the "..." button and locate your CharTitles.dbc and choose it. Before you press "OK", you have to type the treepath from were you extracted CharTitles.dbc. You should have that treepath in Notepad. If not, here it is. DBFilesClient\CharTitles.dbc

    Now you're pretty much done, simply save the MPQ/Patch and move it into World of Warcraft/Data folder. Start wow, and you should be done. Congrats
    Dont hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

    The Guide/Wall of Text got quite much more then i expected... However, enjoy it!

    I don't understand this, where am I supposed to add the line "DBFilesClient\CharTitles.dbc"?

    Anyway, thanks for the guide.

    As you add a file to your MPQ file, you get a button called "..." to the right, and a box were you can type text to the left. First choose the file you want to import, wich should be the CharTitles.dbc file. When that file is chosen, change the text in the box to the left to "DBFilesClient\CharTitles.dbc" as thats the treepath to that file. When you've chosen your edited DBC file, enterered "DBFilesClient\CharTitles.dbc" in the textbox, press "OK" or whatever its called ^^. Then your file should be in that MPQ. Simply move it into \data and name it patch-9.MPQ (Needs to be a free number) Hope it helped. If not, ill try to explain better. Kinda dizzy right now, sorry.

    Not working for me, and I've had people try to make this edit for me too before;

    The title just won't change ingame. I've followed the instructions here but it still won't change.

    I'm trying to change Champion into Supreme Commander.

    any takes?

    Edit; Nevermind, figured it out, for some reason i had to change both ID's to Supreme Commander, not just ID nr 24.
