Hm, good question..
I think it was because after 1 and a half year from release, nobody helped even with a single line of code or to find smth or the share smth of their on.
And i got tired of doing the job all alone.
At the and of the free version, there was one guy(he knows who he is) who actually helped and it was such a huge release...
After all that, one day, one player asked me if i can make a more advanced version for him and he would pay me...and he got a friend, another friend, and so on.
The time spent for a paid product was 500% more satisfying than the one spent on the free version...where people became almost aggressive in pm's with faster updates/changes...wtf,

if an older version already works for my needs (disable shadows on dx11),is there any improvement if I use the most recent free version?

- remove fog from all areas.
- remove shadows for dx11.
- remove extra gore effects.
- reduce ground effects (fire,ice,lightning).
If these doesn't bother/affect you..than no it isn't.

Does anyone know the way to decrease texture quality below medium in DirectX 11 client? It ignores the "texture_quality=x" line in config.ini if X is higher than 1. I'd like to play with "low" textures.

try switching to dx9ex it'll work. however it doesn't give too much fps gain in battle bc of particles
(in my case)

- remove shadows & fog.
- remove extra gore from mtx.
- reduce ground effects (fire,ice,lightning).
- custom settings option.

DirectX 11 is much faster than 9. Especially on slow cpu's. Switching to DX9 will result in performance loss.

Thank you vmv. If I already have an earlier working version, will there be any difference for me if using the free tool for 3.0 ? Or which one would be 'better' ?
The earlier version has
remove particles
remove smoke fx for reflect mobs
remove corpse explosion fx
etc.
Not sure if they are not up to date tho ?
