The Orb of Alteration trick! (get free Alchemys)

Hey guys, as an active member of the Path of Exile trading forum I though I could expand my horizons a little bit and today I decided to share a method to flip certain items in orded to basically duplicate your number of Orb of Alchemy. I know that many of you will already know this but I'm almost certain that some others will find this new.

There we go!

1- Ask in trade chat to exchange your Orbs of Alchemy with Orbs of Alteration at the rate of 1:10 (even 1:12 if you find someone up for the deal)
2- Once you've gotten AT LEAST 40 Alterations, go to the vendor and exchange all those orbs for Jeweller's Orbs:

So now, you should have 20 Jeweller's Orbs right?
3- Exchange those Jeweller's Orbs for Orbs of Fusing at the vendor:

You should have now 5 Orbs of Fusing.

4- Last step: Ask in trade chat to exchange your Orbs of Fusings with Orbs of Alchemy at the rate of 1:1 and there you have it! In a couple of minutes you've basically gained an Orb of Alchemy for free. Now, rinse and repeat!

Unfortunately yeah, you have to buy one by one. Anyway I got used to it pretty fast to be honest haha

great idea, works quite well.

personally I've been making anywhere from 1alch - 1chaos by buying/selling lowbie twink uniques on HC. Just buy them at night for around 1-2 chaos and sell them in the afternoon-evening for a little bit more.

Due to chat segregation, you need to zone in and out of different areas to try and get put into a different instance. You might want to try starting multiple clients, and watch global/trade to make sure you are in a different one in each.

Then, you just try to find sellers in each different instance.

I can't think of anything else other than that, due to the limitations of the system right now.

This, I ran a huge business with this trick and I ended up with 3 clients in different trade chats constantly spamming them

You don't have to click the "sell items" button, you have to click the "purchase items" from the vendor, there's one that will most likely sell you only heavy gear and weapons, another that will sell rings amulets and also orbs!

Method works, but it's takes some time to get willing people to trade. That said, it's still free alchs.
