Elementalist Lightning Surge Infinite Range

Currently the ele lighting surge skill has infinite range..in other words if you can target anything you can hit it….and it’s being heavily abused right now in WvW to destroy siege equipment from a safe location and totally ruining it.

By a safe place i mean the invincibility area near defenders.. esp at the 3 server maps a group of ele will stand there and shot down the towers without a way to counter them
destroying all the siege equipment.

i experienced that only the animation has infinite range

It works.
Chain lightning = Out of range
Lightning surge = ahwoutch

not for long,was reported on the gw2 forum about 17 hrs ago..guess it might be changed in the update at 1am eastern usa time(9am tues uk time)

Lightning Surge: This skill no longer has infinite range and cannot fire at targets behind the player. It also is properly affected by line of sight and works with the Arcana trait Blasting Staff.
