I thought you can only get them if you are Norn, how did a human get it?

Either that's true and the 'human' was lying. Or i cannot find the right vendor (checked both karma & weaponsmith vendors).

This is info on how to "launder" those items:
1)Buy 4 items for 84 karma. (or as many as you can carry)
2)Go to Lion's Arch, to the Mystic Forge, put 4 of those items into it
3)Now you have an item of level around 70, that is "soulbound on use"
4)Repeat! You can then combine those lvl 70ish to get a lvl 80 (exotic sometimes even)

is the value of the ore, sigil, wood way way more than the karma + salvage kit? Should i be doing this a lot to stockpile? I have no idea what the value of those 4 salvaged items is really...and im lvl 70
