What is this an instance or something?

I don't get how relogging would help unless its an instance...

and if it's an instance, don't you need some sorta quest for it?

Chest seem to award you with loot around your level, at least that's what it seems to me. So you being lvl 30+ makes them give lvl 30 loot...

Can you back that up ? Because from my experience with chests, the give loot based on the level of the zone they are into. The 2 chests in the 1st sylvari zone are always giving low lvl items.

The items I've got are not soulbound, so you can sell them to other players.

That's right. I'm close to 40lvl and get 35-40lvl items. Mostly blue armor and weapons but also got lucky with a yellow ring loot.

It works when you are put to overflow servers you haven't yet visited.

Just went for the first chest as i'm only level 24, was really easy to get to and I got some nice blues.

Just updated with another chest, I am getting higher lvl, this chest loot is lvl 28-29~ so like I said chest drops are connected to the zone level, not to your personal level.

btw it would be nice if u can post an screeen from the whole map or region, when u find an chest.

Chest loot is levelled, up to its level cap.

What does this mean?

Well for instance, chests in the starter areas are a lvl 20 cap, so you will not find higher than that from the chests inside the jumping puzzles, or drops from elite mobs (also levelled). HOWEVER, if you were say, level 12 and did the jumping puzzle, the items wouldn't be 20, they would be more appropriate for your level.

You can usually tell a capped chest because it drops just under its cap most of the time, for instance a 30 capped chest will drop lvl 28 and lvl 29 loot, and sometimes, rarely, 30.

The chests in LA have an unknown cap atm, I've seen lvl 33 loot drop from them, but of course I did them when I was 24, and got around my lvl loot. There are also three chests like that in Lion's Arch, not just one.
