It turns out I wasn't able to sell the account to buymmoaccounts.com because they required that the email change was done manually by them through the account settings page on the gw2 website.

Buymmoaccounts.com wouldn't let me just reply to the gw2 GM through email as to what the new email should be changed to. They insisted that they needed to do it themselves or we could not finish the transaction.

This option was disabled recently by ArenaNet and they plan on enabling it again in the near-future but have not confirmed the date.

This being said, the account is still up for grabs and at this point I'm willing to sell it to anyone for $80. ($80 was the quote given by buymmoaccounts.com)
