Started using this as YAFB stopped working after the most recent update and has not been updated itself.

My only issue with this at the moment is, unless XIV is the main focus, it just doesn't pick up the bite. I'd like to be able to leave this fishing for an hour whilst catching up on TV episodes. Is this a bug or intended? Suggestions?

Couldn't say what the issue is. I run it 100% in the background, and I would assume most people here do as well. Maybe try fullscreen windowed and see if that works for you.

I used this for quite some time and it worked phenomenally... until the most recent patch. I'm now having the same issue bd3k is. I move to a spot, attach, hit start fishing, my character casts, but as soon as I get a bite the bot does nothing. Again, no issues until the most recent patch.

simple fix, with the added random times, change <add key="fishingPostHookWait" value="10"/> to 11, 12 or 13 ...mattering on the random cast timers you are using ... with the longer wait to hook, you need a longer post hook wait time. And with the long catch times on some fish like mahi-mahi, the bot will stop working.

Guys look at the log file while running the bot and use it to tune the post hook time value.

I'm using "11" with zero problems.

It's not an issue with the post hook timer if it isn't hooking anything to begin with. Even on the first cast I will get a bite and the bot will not pick it up. The post hook timer isn't even a factor up to that point.

i get it randomly, mostly if it mooches, after it catches, it stops casting and just stands there with rod out

Make sure you're using the most up-to-date version posted by myself. Some of the behavior listed by BuckeT71 sounds like the behavior of outdated pointers. I would also check your log and set it to "High" to get the most information.

The program essentially functions as follows in pseudo-code:

while(running)
{
     cast
     waitforbite (reading location in memory that reports if there is a bite)
     hook
     wait while reeling in fish
}

If Hook 0x0 never changes to 0x1 after a bite in your log, then it's not reading the pointer location in memory properly, which means you might be using the wrong pointer value.

I've sent an email and a PM to the original author of the program. If I don't hear anything back in about 2 weeks or so, I'll probably release what I have for the source.

I can't seem to attach the process at all. Running borderless window on windows 8, tried running leviathan as admin and win7 compatibility still the same results. Not detecting position and fish bites.

Just downloaded smm298's version and it works great. I hadn't taken the time to read this entire thread so I didn't realize the original author's latest version was out of date.

Changing this value to 11 worked for me, thanks mate.

* removed time to level (pointer for xp to level is too dynamic)
* reset xp/hr on level up
* add randomness as a textbox, delay between casts, delay when hooking (leave as zeroes for previous behavior)
* cheer/dance on levelup
* random emotes every 10-15 casts (if enabled)
* added FF version + pointer
* added autoinject if ffxiv is already open
* removed process name textbox
* dances/cheers on level up
* moved the interface around a bit

i seem to be having problems running SMM298's latest version.

i run as admin and it attaches fine but when i click fish nothing happens in game my character just stands there. not sure why since its so plug and play

I really like this program and appreciate the work put into it. ~ So I'm having a rather strange issue. I'm running windows 8.1 dual monitor - ffxiv is on borderless window. The program works great. No issues that I've seen. However, when I run it on my other computer it doesn't want to work. The other computer is single monitor, windows 7, borderless window. Using the exact same zip file downloaded from here. about the only other difference is the resolutions. The program will attach, but it will not cast anything when I tell it to 'start fishing'. I am running both leviathan and ffxiv with admin rights.

Any ideas?
