    EvEMU, an EvE Online emulator

    Hey all,

    Evemu has been around for quite a while now, but not as much headway has been made, it might not be as popular as wow, but it's a really great game.

    This isn't a call for developers, more of a call to spread the word about evemu, i want to get people more involved in it.

    Right now, we have a:

    Trunk folder and,
    Experimental folder


    The trunk works, but all you are able to do is fly around.

    The experimental folder contains patches that people have posted on the forums, they are usually tested by a few people, so if a major bug comes up, it's usually fixed.

    A new patch has recently been posted by ItWasLuck with the following things added/fixed.

    Code:
    -Giveskills command implemented
    -Skill checking for flying ships implemented
    -Trashing items implemented
    -SKill Lowering Check implemented
    -Skill Points calculated correctly for any level
    -Target Lock Timer implemented
    -Added giveskill support in chat: /giveskill [characterID] [skillID] [level]
    -Added framework for giveskill by name (incomplete)
    -Added checks to prevent skill levels higher than 5
    -Self Target Prevention implemented
    -Boarding ship from pod implemented
    -Free Rookie ships when docking in pod implemented
    -Added dropping of targets when docking
    -Added deactivation of modules when docking
    -Shield boosters work correctly
    -Shield Extenders work correctly (incomplete)
    -Stripminers work correctly
    -Armor repairers work
    -All modules require cpu and powergrid from the ship
    -Implemented checks to prevent overloading cpu, capacitor, or powergrid
    The patch is already active on the experimental branch, and will not apply to the trunk.

    EvEMU is still is early stages of development.

    I thought that the project was frozen and I am very very glad to see that I was wrong

    Nope, the person who created it fell off the face of the earth though...

    In all honesty, it's still going slow, but we hope to get a few developers soon, got a mate who has 2 programming buddies who are interested

    interesting... though i kind of missing the point of emulator for a game which can be free to play (with right approach) and is heavily based on interaction with other players (pvp)

    Testing game mechanics and builds. Although that's possible on Singularity, I suppose an emulator would give you greater control.
