I just tested and you can do this indefinitely. Keep logging into an alt that has hirelings and alt f4, but when you want to collect the mail log into a different character to do so. Then after empty your mailbox you can continue to do this method with your alt character.

Along with the OP, this is a quality post. Both people deserve more rep then they have received so far, 100s of people have been using this bug because they have been made aware through this thread, yet only a few showed appreciation. Take a few minutes, register, and give these people some rep, because this is an awesome dupe exploit and can be done as long as a fix comes.


On a side note, it seems that the enchanter bags never contain anything, the other 3 skills however always contain materials, it seems they are trying to fix it, this is for EU.

What is everyone's honest opinion on the likelihood of Zenimax spotting someone abusing this and banning them? I have 8 hirelings fired up and ready to go, but I have been hesitant up this point. Nice job spotting this one gentlemen.

Honestly, the best return would be to do it daily on an alt that has the hirelings 2/3 or 3/3, yes this will take a lot of time but think about it. This char is your main, it plays often, heck it even DC's from the server often with how hectic the last weeks have been (I do not envy zenimax engineers, you can call them lazy but when the game works as intended you can just SEE how much effort they put in../..) What i'm getting at, if you use the exploit sparingly on your main, none will be the wiser and no way you will be banned. If you treat it like a get-rich fast scheme then yeah, go hard, sell enough gold to cover an account + a good profit and see where it gets you.

Those are my 2cents atleast guys, loving your input and awesome to see lurkers and old members alike coming together to speak about this. I'd just like to say to all donators and contribs and upwards - yes this sort of stuff is elite worthy and yes it will get fixed faster on the public section but... honestly, these people are our future. Throw folks a bone, foster a good community and either the donator or the contrib system will do the rest because people start caring. There will be more killer exploits found and posted in elite for the die hard fans of OC to enjoy, I hope you understand and respect this!

Im with fear on this. Im just doing it on 1 character a couple times every hour or 2, next time on a different character. So if anyone was to look into my log ins and outs, it just looks like im having issues dc'ing when i swap toons once in awhile. While still getting a little extra something for my mains. Wouldn't go hard at it on this account though.
