alter data from random number generator?
extremely new to modern programming since my last program ran on zx81. There must be a simple sidebar program able to alter data(numbers) when received from game provider, which will then produce an alternate result and return data which the games own program will accept. Any help very much appreciated and invitations to share publicly are encouraged.lets figure out the big one and turn the world upside down.

great idea but can the game be intercepted between 2 other interfaces if logged into their network.sent from point A ( intercept and alter) , arrives at point B, game adjusts data then returns to point A. SIMPLES...maybe

This sentence doesn't make any sense. If you are asking if you can mess with a game's random number generator... then sure probably. Random number generators work by accepting a seed. If you were to set the seed, you can manipulate the returned results.
You could try Cheat Engine's "Unrandomizer" function, or hook some commonly used random functions for yourself.
EDIT: Also, your second question is a completely separate question. Yes, you can edit packets before they are sent to the server.

i was thinking more along the lines of not changing the actual randomised number, but the players input number that is altered by the rng to produce the outcome? dunno, maybe brains gone to mush.thanks though because that would certainly work

This part again doesn't make sense. Generally RNG calls return a number, they don't accept a number.
To me, it sounds like you are trying to hack some sort of multiplayer game. Typically anything random is handled on the server and you cannot modify it. You can only modify the input, or the returned value from the server. A note so you don't take this the wrong way, just because the server responds that you got 100 experience doesn't mean you can change that to 10000000 and instantly level up. Experience is an example of something that would be stored on the server and cannot be modified without hacking their servers or finding an exploit.
