"Hello World" to making bots & hacks

Hello there, i'm new to programing (made a small "bot" that pushes the 6 key every 3 sec. in the wow window(making it able to run in background)) but that was in Autoit and i'v decided to "learn a real language" so i'm trying to learn C#. I'v learned how to do some basic stuff in C# such as make the program say stuff like "hello world" and pick a random number, etc. I was wondering how i actually convert this "basic" knowledge into writing a bot or hack for WOW. it seems like not many people choose to share their codes, which seems fair, but i don't know how to learn without examples. Should i pick up a "for dummies book" to learn C#? or are there better books? are there any free ones ?

Also i've heard that as long as i keep the program private, on the DL from Blizz, it's pretty hard to get caught(other than player reports) then it's pretty safe. is this only for bots? or does this hold true for hacks too? if so then would i be able to remake emu hacker and use that without hooking another process?

Thank you for your time an patience and i hope you can help me out.

    Thanks,
    -Hi on Helium

And reverse-engineering, while he's at it.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

Danne is right, making a bot is alot more complex then using the basics, if you had some kind of wow framework then you might be able to do it with intermediate knowledge
