Sending Capital Letters or Shift

I have searched and can not find anything relevant to what I need on here so hopefully someone can guide me or give me a lead.

I am using postmessage/sendmessage for sending input to WoW.

My problem is that I can not send capitals letters. WoW likes to only let you send lowercase for some reason. I also cant set the caplock or shift using these calls.

I am also trying to do this without setting focus to WoW, i.e. i would like if i did not have to use SendInput, keybd_event, etc. Since all of these need the window in focus.
