Move Item to Auction Tab Without Spending Gold

Have you ever wanted to watch an item, but hate to tie up your money on it with 1+ days to close and hate to keep searching to find it? Bid on the item with more gold than you have (be very careful to insure you bid more than you have). You will get a message that the transaction failed but it will move the item to your auction tab so you don't have to search for it again in the future.

One other little bonus if you do this, you can determine whether or not someone else has bid on the item. This is particularly useful for bids along the lines of 3,465,985 as you don't really know if the seller used that as the minimum bid or if others are bidding on it. If no one has bid on it, you will see the current bid is 0. And of course, if someone has bid on it, you will see the amount listed under current bid.
