TurboHUD was Hacked and Has been Discontinued
From the official forums.
Yeah, somebody hacked the account of a PRO member (@prrovoss) from the IP address [73.100.125.59] 2 hours ago and basically deleted the entire forum.
Well played! We no longer have manuals, helper forums, customizations, anything.
I am done here and now. Everything we have built is gone.
This forum will be deleted on 2016.05.31.
Since the release threads are POSSIBLY compromised, I remotely disabled HUD by setting an impossible high version number, which means HUD no longer works.
Please do not even ask for more HUD releases. I am out.
I have some friends in the US, and I already sent them the intruder's IP address.
They will send it to the authorities with all the proof I gathered in the forum's security log.
Let's hope there will be consequences since the US takes cyberattacks seriously.
BR,
John
PS: do not send me messages please...
Something's not right here, I find it hard to believe that there were no backups at all and that the entire forum could just get deleted in one fell swoop. I'm thinking the guy just wanted out, possibly because of Blizzard? Either way, would love to have the time to write a D3 radar, without all the bloat. TurboHUD was great but most of those features were really unnecessary, or were just hard to set up. Sad to see it go, it was fun while it lasted.

Can someone post the workaround for the version check? So we can at least use it until there is a patch

run data recovery on what was deleted... i doubt there is not a backup somewhere. Or that all of the data was written over...

They didnt make backups, they should only be mad at their selves.
Oh well.

The two workarounds copied from Reddit:
Fix #1.
Not sure if anyone will ever see this, but here is the fix to get THud working again.
1. Download and install Fiddler for Net 4
2. Run and go to Rules: customize rules, it opens a notepad file CustomScripts.js. This is found in C:/Users/<user>/Documents/Fiddler2/Scripts/CustomRules.js
3. Open this in Notepad++ for easy reading
4. Find the function "OnBeforeRequest" and add the following underneath the commented code: if (oSession.url == "pastebin.com/raw.php?i=4w5AkAsy") { oSession.url = "pastebin.com/raw.php?i=UBBfawt9"; }
5. THud should be run after Fiddler is open, and it will work. It redirects the old pastebin to a link to a new pastebin with the right version number. Cheers!
User Response:
Thanks mate, this fix worked perfectly for me on Win 7.
Edit: For those wondering how I got it to work -
I installed both Fiddler 2 (the actual name of the Fiddler program) and Notepad++. I then opened the CustomScripts.js (C:/Users/<user>/Documents/Fiddler2/Scripts/CustomRules.js) with Notepad++. Once the rule was added where advised as per OP's comments above, I just saved it, then closed Notepad++. I then loaded up Fiddler (nothing more needs to be done other than opening the program) and left it open, downsizing the program to the menu bar.
Next open up the Bliz/D3 client, start a solo game and wait in town. Then alt-tab back to desktop, run Thud and it activates as normal, as if it wasn't disabled.
Fix #2.
Feel free to piss on me or whatever, i just think it's childish on his side. Here's a quickly done hack to fix current version until it settles down.
1. Open a notepad
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
3. Drag&drop "hosts" file into notepad
4. put
77.223.80.31 pastebin.com
on a new line in the end of a file
5. hit save

Hell yes please Torp, I use your Sonar & Wild Catch almost daily and would love you to eventually add D3 to your repertoire.
