Swapping item in trade?

Saw a feller in trade selling a easily 500m manticore for 50m to people.

Was obvious scam so wanted to see how he was doing it.

Pretty much somehow he is changing the manticore in the trade screen without it interrupting the 5 second delay in which to click accept.

Anybody have any idea how this is done?
