Multi-Bot 20+ accounts rig?

I can only get around 8-9 bots running on my computer. I can push for 12-13, but it will start to blue screen every 4-6 hours. I want to build a new rig with the money I've made so far botting, and try to get 22+ accounts running stable.

Current Rig
AMD X6 1090T 3.6ghz
Gigabyte 790 mobo
12GB DDR3 1600Mhz Corsair
1GB ATI 6870
1000W PSU
using multiple folders to launch each D3 separately.

Prospective rig
i7 3930 OC to 4.5Ghz+
X79 mobo chipset
16GB DDr3 1600Mhz, upgrade to 32mb (dont think i will need to though)
2GB 7870.


do you think I need a stronger GPU? or is it fine? I run D3 800x600, lowest settings, windowed mode.
Will a SSD be worth the investment? does it help load times significantly?

gpu wont matter much as long as it has over 2gb of vram. 16bgb at a minimum, but its so cheap now adays your better off just getting 32gb.

3930k is your best bet, although i hear people reporting good results on the 3770k if you dont want to go socket 2011.

I think a SSD is worth the investment. Just buy ISBoxer too for 40$/year and you can run Diablo 3 of one folder without any problems.

Does ISBoxer work better than just virtual machines with VMWare? I have a fairly powerful rig, and feel it's starting to cap out at 5 VM's running 5 copies of the game at 1920x1080.

isboxer doesnt offer unique hwid like vmware does, and thats also the main reason why vmware is so cpu intensive.

I happen to have a badass server I want to sell (Can create Ebay auction for you I have 100% feedback) it has 2 xeon quad core processors 40 gb of DDR3 RAM 4 1.5TB HDDs with a SCSI card. It was built to run virtual servers. The guy who was leasing it from me quit botting (on another game) So I would like to sell it. It has a video card in it. You might need to add a better one but with 2 Xeon processors (with hyperthreading) it was able to handle 30 windows 7 virtual machines running Magic The Gathering Online for this guy. If your interested PM me and I can answer any questions and/or setup a ebay auction for you. It is all built on server hardware. Redundant hot swappable power supplies, HDDs, Fans, Everything. It might be worth your while to upgrade to a server platform if your serious about running lots of bots.

Most likely its not the video card that is being maxxed out. I own a server hosting company and I have a lot of experience hosting bot servers for a few other games. If you see someone running 20 or more bots on 1 server they are no longer using consumer based hardware. They most likely have graduated to enterprise kit. IE dual processor servers.

You can run 20 diablo accounts on a nice computer built for it.I run 20 in background mode on one of my farm computers. It isn't cheap to build, but you make it all back pretty fast. IMO if you plan on running a bunch, I highly suggest you look into a server. Then again given the rapid decline of this game, I can't suggest you put any money into botting it at this moment. If people weren't buying gold on the AH and netting me $1.8 per mil after the fees then I would have stopped already. Do not PM with asking how to run that many as you are now my competition .

Warbux is correct in that the GPU is not the limiting factor. I will tell you that if you are running VS then your doing it wrong. It uses way too much CPU to run something you can do with 0 effort without it.
