i don't get it. people sell 20m for radiant star amethyst but it will cost 20m to craft it.. so if they sell it for 20m - 15% fee they lose.. what am i missing?![]()

It's because they won't move for higher prices due to massive undercutting.
in EU 1 flawless square goes for 145gold and 1 tome of secret 605gold. You would need 729 flawless square to craft 1 radiant star and 1631 tomes of secrets + the cut fee from the jeweler. Total gold would be 16,492,460gold and to make it profitable you would have to sell the gem for more than 19,402,894gold
Actually, if you're one of those with tons of Gold you're trying to sell on RMAH you may be stuck waiting a while. With a slight dip in overall profit, you can flip gems much faster, so it's really an economics thing. Plus if you're getting the gold through *alternate* means it's not really a big impact at all.
well there isn't a need for amethyst as much as emerald.. but yes blizzard is probably the ones filling the order
Still better off flipping items and not losing the 30%

basically best way to translate gold in money in rmah do some higher gems.
However in GAH it's quite od but its still a profit of 1MIL-2MIL if you get the gems and tomes by farming. so it's good.
