My guess is that within a day or two supply will far outstrip demand at this level, and once all the initial buyers dry up gold auctions will sit a very long time without selling. Once people start hitting the 36hr time without selling they will return to outside channels, and we will see prices retreat again from where they are now

Can't you cancel gold auctions, like you can cancel gems/tomes/similar commodities?

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to cancel ah, and "unlock" gold if you need it somewhere else.

My 1M test from over an hour ago is still up, i have a feeling if Blizzard doesn't allow lower bids auctions will just languish, and sellers will return elsewhere.


When that happens i'm confident blizzard will lower the min price to keep their slice of the pie

One of the main problems is you still have people spamming the chats with 1.6 per mil. If you were a consumer would you pay 1.6 per mil or 2.5+8% sales tax? Many people are still gonna go that route way before they pay $2.7 after taxes.

That all depends on how many buyers prefer the security of approved gold sales, knowing their accounts won't be banned. The next few days will tell the story.

I searched for 28 mil and it gave me a unit price of .29, so I listed mine at .28, meh we'll see.

Lol some of you are funny, I'd atleast wait a day before you jump to conclusions. The feature is brand new, its gunna be whacky at first. I personally think gold is going to sell quite easily, at least for a week or 2. Just because your gold doesnt sell in 2 hours doesnt mean its not going to. Even if it takes a day it still sells.

To put it in perspective, gold buying from outside sources was obviously still circulating so gold inside RMAH will only create more circulation. Do you know how many people that adds to the demand? There's a lot people who wanted to buy gold but didn't because they dont trust the outside source route. And I think it will easily keep up with the increased supply. Your average non botter isnt going to be putting up 50 mil gold every couple days, only the people selling gold in the first place are.

Right now you could buy gold from a 3rd party and sell it on the RMAH if the stuff will sell.
