Can anyone post a step by step for shared diablo 3 in the main system? I cannot seem to get it work and I don't want to waste space for diablo 3 client in each VMware workstation

I have a 2500k @4.0 and 8 gig of RAM. How should I allocate if I want to run 3 VM's? Each VM will have diablo running a bot of course.

I ask because I am playign with settings, I'm having lag issues atm.

2500k at stock speeds, 16GB of RAM for me. I'm allocating 1.8 GB to each VM but I think you can run fine with at least 1GB each. (try 1.5) I set FPS limit at 25 fps.

Yeah, I was playing around with higher allocations and getting bad results and then I just went with 1 core, 1 gb ram for each VM and its running flawlessly.

I think you're overestimating how much RAM a bare install of just Windows 7 & Diablo 3 will use. If you really do hit the pagefile, I suppose it can be mitigated by putting the virtual machine images on a SSD.

win7 + d3 = 1.5gig ram if you DONT want to hit pagefile. with 1 gig you definetly hit it all the time

I've gone through whole this topic and also many others, yet still cannot find definite answer: Do I need a powerful GPU in order to run mutliple d3 instances? If yes, then which specific one? If not, would the integrated MB one suffice? I rly need to know this...
    thanks in advance

I run machines with bots already for some time.

    Hardware1
    I7 860 2,8ghz@3,7ghz
    16GB Dual Channel 1600mhz RAM
    2xSSD 120GB Vertex 3
    GPU - ATI HD6870 1GB

    Hardware2
    AMD FX8120 3,1GHZ@4GHZ
    18GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHZ
    1x SSD 120GB OCZ Agility
    GPU - GEFORCE 2GB

    Hardware3
    I7 2700K 3,5ghz@3,5ghz
    18GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM
    2xSSD 120GB Agility
    GPU - HD 7870 2GB

This are my machines at the moment. The important thing we need to understand it's this, there is RAM and there is Virtual RAM on windows, If virtual ram will be used, buy SSD. Using virtual ram saves the need of RAM per machine.

I run 3d games on windows XP machines with 256-300mb, all because of use of SSD and divide in multiple SSDs.

Regarding use of windows XP or Win7 I prefer win7 even if takes more resources of Hardware. But in the end WinXp also does a good job.

So what is most important 8 core CPU, RAM DDR3, SSD. Regarding the GPU you get cheap GPUS already for few money. 1GB DDR GPUS with about 900mhz clock its the standard. Remember you run this games all in low graphics, so you GPU will not be used so intensive. However you will need yes CPU power/speed RAM and SSD helps you save some RAM.

I use always SSD for all my bots. For D3 I can achieve easily 12-15 bots with this machines depends if my setup its win xp or win7. However atm only have 8 d3 bots running in one machine.

From other games i can run like 23-25 vms on this.

    32/64 gb ram
    SSD 512 GB
    Geforce GTX 690 4gb

With this you can fly to the moon might no need socket 1366!
This. This is the specs of my rig (3930k), except I have a GTX 680 SuperClocked+.

If you're looking to buy a server mainly for VMware on-board GPU is enough.

Yes I want to rent a server, but are you sure about this? Will the onboard GPU handle like 8 d3 instances? (ofc I would run it on 800*600)

    You'll be fine.

Make sure you get enough RAM and good CPU.
Also make sure to run D3 at 24fps or less.
