When I'm running 1, it's working flawlessly, or when I'm running 5vm's but only 1 in Diablo, but as soon as I open diablo in 2nd VM, it starts crashing/lagging and similar things.

    I got i7-2600k OC-ed to 4.2GHz, 4x4gb ddr3 ram, gts 450 glh. 1tb sata III, no SSD tho.

I'm using vmware workstation 8.x, latest tools, and assigned 1 processor 2 cores, 3gb ram, 40gb hdd space per VM.

If anyone got idea what should I do to be able to run multiple VM's running multiple diablo's, please enlighten me.
biggest limit is hdd speed since switching to ssd for my vms i have no more lagg problems

Then I'll have to buy an SSD I guess. Was just wondering if there's any other problem with my computer & VM's.

You don't need a SSD. I'm running 10+ VMs on a single machine and my 10k rpm raptor drive has no problems with it.

SSD's are pretty cheap now (1$/GB) compared to how they used to be, so pretty much a no brainer unless you need mass storage

I've been contemplating building a PC with the main goal of setting up VMware to run 4+ autoit bots

CPU: Intel i5 3570K overclocked to atleast 4Ghz
    Memory: 16GB 1600Mhz any good brand corsair/crucial/gskill
GPU: GTX580 or HD7870 either would work fine Id imagine
    MOBO: ASrock Z77 extreme4
    HDD: 128gb OCZ Vertex 4
    PSU: 600w

Aproximately costs $750-850 depending on case choice/extra features to build but would easily annihilate running multiple d3's

Let me know what you guys think

You don't need an SSD. The only reason your harddrive speed would make a difference is if you're out of RAM. It will make a difference in booting speed.. that's about it.

Looking for someone to help me figure out a couple of issues.

    1. First off, VMware and D3 run just fine in the beginning, perfect FPS, no lag. After running about 6 hours or more it starts to lag, considerable amount of lag and slows down big time. Anyone else have this issue?

    2. Secondly, ever since DLign and running VMware my main comp has had hiccups in D3 where it never used to. Even when the VM is powered down. It almost seems like the RAM and Cores are allocated to the VM even when its powered down or something. Anyone have any ideas?

There's gotta be people with similar issues, hope I can figure these things out.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but couldn't find another one relevant.

    These are my specs
    CPU:i5-2500 @3.30ghz
    GPU:GTX 560 Ti
    RAM: 8GB DDR3
    SSD:OCZ Agility 3 120gb.

    Now I have a question
Will I be able to run 3 instances of Diablo at once at the lowest settings?

    Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you have a memory leak. What other programs are you running? In both your host and guest os's.

I think you should be able to run 3. I can run 3 with a bit of lag and my current bottleneck is RAM @ 6GB so with 8 you should be able to run 3 or 4. Don't give your VM's more than 1GB of RAM, it's pointless.

I'm not running anything beside few drivers software, not even some messengers, music or anything similar, on host that is, and on guest os's I wasn't running after, after fresh install, only thing that I installed were autoit, diablo, VM tools, nothing more.

i dont understand why do you need VMware ? I can run multiclient without VM i dont need it...
i would suggest getting server hardware with lots of ram

    i bought
AMD Opteron 6128 + 32 GB DDR3 RAM (i got it cheap from secondhand)
any idea how many bots i could run with this ?
and what gpu is reguired ?

I can see why you got "99" in your nickname.

@Chip9988, you don't need some "ultra" graphic card, because as I understood, VM's don't use these.

If it didn't use the GPU, you wouldn't be able to run 1 VM without lag.

    SSD: Crucial m4 SSD 256GB, 2.5", SATA 6Gb/s (CT256M4SSD2) - $250
    CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K 4x 3.50GHz So.1155 BOX - Clocked to 3.9GHz - $350
    GFX: Onboard Intel GFX
    CPU-COOLER: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 - $80
    BOARD: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Intel Z77 So.1155 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX Retail - $220
    RAM: 32GB-Kingston-ValueRAM-DDR3-1600-regECC-DIMM-CL11-Quad-Kit $250
    POWER: 650W Enermax Revolution 87+ ERV650AWT-G - $150
    CHEAP TOWER: $30
    CHEAP MONITOR: $100
Sounds intresting, I'm about to make me one pretty similar.

But the RAM... I don't know, 250$ for CL11? I think you can get a CL9 Kit for the same price.

And the powersupply could even be cheaper, 100$ should be enough, the "Be quiet! Pure Power CM BQT L8-CM-630W" for example. In EU its about 90$.

AND I'd prefer the "Samsung MZ-7PC256D" as HDD.

    Metti

    €dit:

Any ideas for the case? "Cheap Tower" isn't that easy. The MB and the Cooler have to fit in it, idk if there is any around 50$... Any ideas would be nice!
