    Personal Payments Warning from paypal

    Hey there fellow OwnedCore users,

Today (Sunday afternoon), I was phoned by a representative of paypal about accepting Personal Payments for the transaction of virtual goods.
My account is under investigation now. I have to write an email promising to not take personal payments as transaction means, furthermore I have to send them proof of adress and a copy of my passport or ID card.

I was wondering if anyone else has been through the same process for selling virtual goods?

    Regards,

    Dejan

I'm guessing they want you to convert to a verified business account instead of a personal paypal account.

Also can be related to reversed if you've had a few of those.

Ive had like 3 chargebacks due to people buying gold with what seems to be stolen paypal accounts.

How can I convert to a verified business acount when Im just a private user, I mean id have to pay taxes and everything right ;P ?

Follow the step Paypal is walking you through.

Yes you are earning money which requires you to report it and pay your taxes.

Yes I know that I am required to report my earnings, but never thought anyone would actually notice it is not like I've earned millions :P
About 900 euros now, but well I guess that I should research something about taxes and virtual goods in my country of residence.

Are you sure it's not because you're receiving all payments as gifts?

you can make up to 20k dollars or 200 payments recieved before paypal mails your account statement to the I.R.S. and then they put the @$!@ in your mouth. And you know the IRS has power when they cut Blade 4 from coming out after Wesley Snipes got busted for tax ivasion...That movie woulda been hot to.

Just don't accept personal payments. Sending payments as gifts literally do not help your chances of winning a chargeback. And if you have alot of gifts sent they limit/warn you about it.

Paypal is basically just mad that they're losing a percentage of each transaction. So they're warning you not to game the system.

Don't think moneybookers has transaction fees. This is all information you could be googling yourself.

    https://www.moneybookers.com/app/help.pl?s=fees

So its 1% (up to EUR 0.50 EUR) - but the SENDER has to pay, probably not an issue you should just tell your customers in advance and drop the total by whatever they'd need to pay.

But in that way you can only recieve money from users who have money on their account, not when they pay straight via credit card or whatever else method.
