You guys think i can make a barb that will allow me to clear act 3 with only $100? or should i make something else or buy gold or what? im really lost about this game and i dont want to give up just yet. Im so bad ive re rolled a barb 3 times now lol and i still cant do anything.

ehh im in act 3 inferno now with my barb. it sucks ass. so i made a demon hunter for fun. seems like it will be alot more effecient. Whenever i dont know what to do in diablo i just make a new character and toy around until they patch my problems. its been working so far.

If you spent 100 Dollars, on gold. Then you should be able to get decent gear, and be alright.

100 bucks on gold is what, 30m or so? you could make a char for that, easily clear act3. spend time researching gear/specs before commiting, so you know what you need/want and keep working on the char, no point rerolling every 5minutes that'll get you no where.

Posted that on someone elses topic. I just wanted to point that out. It's not what you spend, rather buying the things you need. With 100 dollars, you should be able to buy enough to do anything you want. Just don't buy the wrong shit. **** the guy that did the 1m challenge. I literally replaced all my gear tonight and went from farming Act I to farming Act IV semi-afk watching TV shows for just over 500k.

Edit: Just looked over the RMAH and you can buy gear better than mine for $2.00-$5.00 a piece.

As TheDruid1 said. on RMAH its "Cheap" and some items you find, may be very good, for a very decent price. if you do want to spend money on Diablo 3, then check RMAH for cheap & good stuff.

I wouldn't put $100 on gear. Rather put it on buying gold from someone reliable. Even $100 is a lot though. You buy like one mil for $2 right now. I'd say buy 10 mil max. Even 5 would do for a complete and good gear (If you're talking about inferno right now, if not even 200k would do)

budget $100 in how many item slots you have, ~$7 per slot. you should be fine, weapon may need twice as much $ as the others. if want to convert some to gold just pm me

you also need to map out what stats you want and which pieces of gear offer the best of that stat. for instance it is easiest and most cost effective to get life on hit from ammy (~400) and weapons (~400 + 300 from gem) and probably just ignore it on rings (only ~100). weapon and mighty belt can have 3% lifesteal, which is ok as supplementary to the life on hit, if you can find it. also read holy weapons giving ppl even more life return, only 70% sure about this one. you can refer to the max stat guide in the guides section to help you and look at the stats of successful barbs that have cleared inferno completely by themselves.

more tips: as you see if you refer to the 'max stats' chart, most gear can only have much less vitality than offensive stat like str. some gear can have 300 str, but only 200 vit max. what i did was search for high str, medium vit, but also decent %life. this keeps you well balanced defensively for skills that give life return %based of your total, and you don't have to sacrifice so much offensively or from your wallet. str can't really be replaced for dps but vit and %life are pretty even for survival.

more tips: i see a lot of people highly value 'All Resist' gear, they will gladly pay millions for items with 70-80 all resist. if you don't have millions, what i don't see as many people mentioning, is that you can buy 'All Resist' gear WITH a single resist (i.e. fire +40) so you are probably gunning for ~45 all resist gear with a single +40 resist, which people dont value as highly but will still work well for you. and of course any straggling int is always welcome, 50 int is still +5 all resist. you only need the +40 single resist for certain stats, Diablo is all fire along with some of the toughest elites. You only need about 2 or 3 of these boosted higher, since cold/arcane etc can be dodged most of the time by skill, and neither are they super high constant unavoidable dmg you don't need it so high. so let's review, you have about 12 gear slots for this 12x45 = 540 all resist, factor in the +80 single resist you have for 3 main highest dmg unavoidable elements, or even +120 for 2main. you will easily reach 930+ in these with warcry and 800 in the less important/avoidable ones is fine. and of course your resist can be higher if you are lucky and find decent 60 all resist gear for a good price
