Do people actually buy Gems from AH?

Was wondering if it was worth it to craft because of the sarkoth runs. Stars (or flawless stars not sure) are selling for 700k right now, but I'm not sure if people buy them.

If they need the highest level of gem - yes. No matter how much gems you have, they are never enough. Even for the last recipie from the jewelcrafter it take a lot more Flawless gems than expected. Not to mention that there are rare drops for gems which have even more insane requirements

well, flawless emeralds are selling for 3,000 gold and stars for 700k. If it costs around 600k to craft a star, then it would be slightly more profitable to sell a crafted star.

the other gems are way cheaper, like 500-1000 for flawless, and it looks to be more profitable to sell stars too. that is if people are buying them, and my 600k estimate is correct.

If you're lucky, you'll earn a few 10k at most for star emeralds. Not worth the time imo, you'll get just undercut by some kids that didn't count their cost right.

You can see "Average Last day of Trades" price in AH. When it is 0 it definitely means that item is not that popular.

i think average last day is bugged. all of them show 0, but i'm pretty sure someone has bought at least one gem.

well i have seen a few folks selling gems on hardcore but not very many. by gems i mean the high tier that require plans to make.

1.0.3 is only changing Flawless Square and below. So even though the materials for higher gems will be cheaper, you will still have to deal with the same combine costs.

I've been snagging up items on the auction house with higher crafted gems. I've grabbed quite a few and removed them for pennies compared to what people are trying to sell them for.
