Isn't the economy going to shift toward items instead of gold?

Blizzard is nerfing all the gold farming exploits, and the RMAH is about to be released.

So doesn't it make sense that soon it will be all about botting Inferno runs and selling items instead of gold farming? Does anyone think that gold farming will be viable after the RMAH is released?

Its really all speculation, but the game IS centered around items, not gold.

Gold is ones center of focus until they:

Buy all their stash slots, level their 2 artisans to 10, and upgrade their gems to stars. (Things after stars require patterns, which is a change towards a focus on acquiring the item)

Which really isn't all that much gold to begin with. So if you farm gold right now, its to get those things and upgrade your items.

Keep in mind a number of people will never use the RMAH. Just like theres diehard League of Legends players that have never spent a dime in their cashshop.

didnt u guys see the interview with some chinese farmer that farms ~70mil an HOUR? he said there are many more like him out there, and they r saving gold for rmah

i personally think that once rmah opens, then it will be really hard to buy top tier items without spending ur own $, gold will be also dirt cheap in few weeks (like few bucks a mil)
