Insane Boss DPS as Demon Hunter

Allright so I found out another useful thing for DH's (if you haven't seen the smokescreen post just look further down in the D3 exploits section), this one a friend told me. On bosses, or possibly large/large hitbox creatures, Elemental Arrow with Nether Tentacle rune hits twice, meaning you effectively do 310%(2x155%) weapon dmg for only 10 hatred! Together with Marked For Death with Mortal Enemy Rune (3 hatred per hit), you can get insane hatred recovery too, allowing you to spam Elemental Arrow for a longer period of time. I've only tried this out on Belial but so far this has worked.

Edit: This also seems to work on a bit smaller enemies if they stand still while the tentacle orb passes through, maybe this has to be the case for bosses too or they just have a hitbox so big it doesn't matter. Regardless, if you have a tank or some slow/snare/stun it should still give you some nice dmg. You could also use smokescreen (so enemies stand still for a few sec) to get those double hits.

In theory this is good, however in practice i prefer impale.

Why?

Because tentacle arrows move SLOW.
Impale is near instant - which means you can easily aim it and rarely miss.
Tentacle ones move very very slowly, and boss can easily dodge them if he decides to move.

Belial is a static fight, and is not like other bosses. I prefer my impale with stun / impale with DOT personally.

impale is good but costs 25 hatred while elemental arrow costs only 10.

Impale is nice but this guy does have a point, Elemental Arrow is very cheap.

I can crit for 80k x 2 per ball, but that's relative to what weapon and gear you use.

I can crit double impale with Sharpshoter and without mark for 200k&200k, smoke and again. Impale now OP, and need to abuse this.

2h crossbow, 240% crit damage, 24k dps(without sharpshoter stacking)

Been using this. Works wonders. Not really an exploit tho I think.

To those who say impale is better... you cant spam it CLOSE to as much to keep your disc. up. It's much better, there's no comparison. Also, you cant stun inferno bosses from my experience through act 3 on it.

Any rares with Missile Dampening get ripped apart by the Nether Tentacle.

This really shouldn't be posted in exploits. Nether Tentacle > Impale for dmg most of the time. Welcome to Demon Hunter .
