Resolution issues porting a script from 1920x1080 to 800x600

There is a script that I'm currently working on editing, but it only runs in 1920x1080 and I would like to edit it to be able to run in 800x600.

The issue I'm having is I can only use 800x600 in full-screen mode. My monitor is 23" and my desktop resolution is 1920x1080. I tried setting the desktop resolution to 800x600. That allowed me to view the game in 800x600 AND windowed full-screen, but I can only see the upper left corner of the game and the other 3/4 of the screen is missing...

If anyone can give me a solution to fix these resolution issues so that I can begin porting to 800x600, that would be great. Thanks!
