Starting from last week, my profit was cut 1/10. Used to make 3-5 billion gold/week, but these days my profit went down to around 50-200 mil gold/day.
Anyone else? I guess this and blizzkrieg bot went so popular, cutting everyone's margin.![]()
This is effect of sharing profiles and helping total noobs.
Fantastic, now even the botters are whining about botters
I'm pretty certain everyone will shed a tear with you guys who're unable to clear more than ~100$/€ a day. Where's the justice!?!
I'm botting myself now but I for ****s sake certainly won't complain about not making good enough profits because too many people bot. That's just absurd. I was pretty ****ing annoyed when I was actually sniping on the AH manually, because thanks to botters that becomes the most frustrating experience to be had.
And you know what, for the better of the game economy and player fairness I do still wish there were more additional systems warning a user from accidentally putting up a bit with a 0 less or just not having a clue that his CritC Natalya's Reflection is worth more than 10 times its normal price.
Same goes in regards to gold botting, although it seems way, way harder to prevent that efficiently.
Now, don't get me wrong, making more money is great for me personally, but I also see the big picture and cannot possible imagine how I could be someone to complain about shit like this.
Also, because I sniped on the AH manually for a long time I actually got to know my shit very, very well. And when I started botting I kept improving my script more and more, so much so, that despite the loss in overall value that's occurring in that eco system doesn't result in a too high profit loss.
@ ChuiChu
When I've got time I'll try to check if I'm getting the wrong account names or so from the function.
EndlessPermission, you're right, of course, but the subject of discussion is "To teach or not to teach?" When people can not read the readme and ask how to run the bot - they do not deserve any respect or assistance. But asking "which syntax is right - haGetLogin or haGetAccaunt?" is ok and I really enjoy to help such askers.
FYI if you guys want to write the ultimate bot you'll write one that mines the AH, analyzes whats selling, for how much, how fast, etc... and forms conclusions essentially creating the best profiles for you. that was actually my original motivation behind creating HA since thats exactly what i was doing manuallyyou can do other stuff with such an exhaustive bot too.... such as gem mine.
AH botting is currently the flavor of the month, most botters left for MoP WOW, but now that gold prices have dumped there, they are all back at D3, same goes for me![]()
Yeah I mean one of the biggest issue I have is maintaining the script I'm using so that I lower the prices in time so that I don't suddenly end up buying one certain kind of item whose (is that the right word to put here? ;P ) GAH value threshold dropped below the price I assigned to it. Because that could mean that in the case that I'm not there to observe any of it, I may end up buying all of those items over the duration of my absence and end up with no gold left. Sure, I could sell most of it back for lower prices but would take heavy, heavy losses, especially considering that I'd have to flood the market again with those items, at even lower prices to get rid of them gain.
So, writing something that can analyze the gold value for the items I'm currently checking would be fantastic. But ... I cannot imagine how much effort one has to put in so that it doesn't end up screwing one over due to a certain unforeseen circumstance. Even if you do not sell items via your bot you could end up buying items for way too much gold because you maybe accidentally searched for slightly wrong stats parameters or so.
Writing something that checks the prices in a reliable manner sounds like quite some work, even just for one single item.
I mean, e.g. I wanna check the value of Vile Wards. - What's the min. price for any Vile Ward (non legacy of course)? Is it worth buying stuff below the min. price without checking other stuff? How much strength should a vile ward have to make it viable flipping it? How much Dex, Vita, Life, AllRes? Maybe the single Res like PoisonRes etc. for Monks? Hell, could I get a Strength/Gold ratio which, reaching a certain value, makes it profitable? What about combined ratios?
Is the currently lowest buyout a valid representation of the item's currently value or is it too low and will most likely be sold super quickly and thus shouldn't be taken as pivot?
And there are probably a bunch of other questions one would like the answer to. Checking all this with a scripted bot, yeah, that'll be one hell of work to get this done.
But yeh, the ultimate bot would do that. ;P
