Diablo 3 Sandbox installation guide

Please note: This is a sandbox meaning there will be no real content but an ability to look around places and view the game mechanics

Progress

Currently working in this version:
NEW! INGAME CONTENT NOW PLAYABLE!
-Loading screen working, bypass error 7
-Login
-Character creation, loading and delete

-Diablo 3 Client Download (Win): http://us.media.battle.net.edgesuite...enUS-Setup.exe

Installing
* 'Repack' - download and run: Download
*high chance of being out-of-date, you might give it a try though (9/20/2011)
* Manual installation: Read the guide below
*the bulletproof, up-to-date way, should work in every case

Manual installation

Required files/programs:

-Visual Studio C# Express: Visual C# 2010 Express | Microsoft Visual Studio
-d3sharp's source files: https://github.com/raistlinthewiz/d3...zipball/master

Step-by-step guide
1 ) Go to your Diablo 3 folder
2 ) Copy the Diablo III.exe and make a shortcut
3 ) Right click and choose properties
4 ) In the end of location add the following line (after quotes):

-launch -auroraaddress 127.0.0.1:1345

It should look something like this now:

X:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III Beta\Diablo III.exe" -launch -auroraaddress 127.0.0.1:1345

(depends on the location of your installation, could be on different hard drive in a different folder

5 ) If you didn't already download the sources, go to https://github.com/raistlinthewiz/d3sharp
6 ) Press "Downloads" and download the sources in a zip-archive
7 ) Extract the files from the zip

8 ) Follow this guide to compile the server:
9) If you already didn't download and install Visual Studio C# Express, do it now: Visual C# 2010 Express | Microsoft Visual Studio
10 ) Got to the source folder and D3Sharp.sln with Visual Studio
11 ) In Visual Studio: on top Menu navigation bar press the drop down [Debug -> Build solution]. Or hit F6 on your keyboard.

12 ) Copy the config.ini and 'assets' folder from the sources to the same folder with the exe
13 ) Run D3Sharp.exe
14 ) Start Diablo 3 from the shortcut your previously made
15 ) Login with any account credentials of your choice. For example:

Battle.net Account Name: [email protected]
Password: Xel

I've come across a few problems. First, when I try to add the extra line in the properties tab i get this message:"The Folder X:/Prgram Files etc etc specified in the Star In box is not valid. Make sure that the folder exists and that the path is correct. Secondly I'm having issues when using the visual studio and I click "[Debug -> Build solution]" I get the option to save a file. Then it doesn't do anything. Next the 12th point "Copy the config.ini and 'assets' folder from the sources to the same folder with the exe" is to grey to understand. Am I copying those files from the Diablo folder? Or the d3 sharp folder? And what which folder am I copying them to?And lastly, I'm not very familiar with d3sharp so I'm am not 100% sure which one is the .exe file.

Naaa, not sad face. Just a little thinking would do the work. Its called inspect link, and then you see that its by mistake made wrong.

This should do the work.

But i do not have Faith when such a little task can make you sad face.

same issue as above, you cant copy and paste the config.ini and assets file from Visual C in a typical fashion so like others im getting the 303 error..can we get some calrification on how to do this please?

This sandbox is pretty awesome. Now I know I need a new graphics card thanks to this. I have no idea how to pass that wooden gate, I want to get to the town. lol

Just updated the sandbox and it appears the sandbox got progressively better. Some creatures standing around that you can crush with some abilities added in the latest update, plus you can go to the town and see some civilians walking around... plus can go into the inn! Worth checking in often on these updates.

Its so funny, I just got done talking on facebook about how much Ownedcore's community sucks now because of all the flamers and people just looking to be "Smart". Thanks for proving my point. Jerk.
