On Patch Day

So,

I recall reading somewhere that you should remove all MPQ's on patch day. However I have a few questions about this.

1. Should I be removing my added patch files while the patch is being downloaded?
2. Or should I be removing the added patch files when the patch actually asks to apply itself?
3. Using Glitchy's MES I have editted mounts and weapons, does that need to be backed up as well so the patch does not overwrite those as well?

I am mostly referring to the latest patch, 3.0.1 that is currently being downloaded (and taking forever I might add).

Thanks for your help in advance, I really need to know if its safe to use these patch files while 3.0.1 is being downloaded.

Well, I suppose you have to take them out of the folder when the patch is going to be applied (downloading wont overwrite anything yet). And make sure to put them somewhere you find them later if you want to see them again in-game. However due to the change TBC-WotLK, maybe some of your edits won't be compatible anymore, I'm not informed about that. And also you may have to download an updated wowMe.exe

Its pretty simple actually.
1. I would, because you wouldn't want to get caught off guard and have to reinstall wow.
2. YES!!! Otherwise your screwed! And you can't play wow!
3. That's your call.
