Here's a guide on how to level quickly, efficiently, and intelligently. Some people may like using a guide to help them from 1-70 like one of Brian Kopp's. However, what if leveling guides aren't for you?
Here's a compilation of various leveling tips that will help you level fast even without a very specific guide.
1.) When leveling, the best kinds of quests to do are the ones that involve killing mobs just for the mobs. This is because you get static quest credit and a good amount of xp. However, with quests that involve drops, the amount of time it takes to get all 15 or however many items may out way the xp you get from the quest. You may be just wasting time in the end. However, if you find that the drop rate of quest items are good, then go right on ahead. If they arn't, skip it!
2.) Read over your quests carefully. This is a serious, serious must. Some people just read a quest briefly only to find out that they were supposed to go east of *insert town* not west... 2 minutes of thoroughly reading all the quests you have when you receive them will save you any where from a few minutes of time in the end, or hours.
By reading quests thoroughly you may be able to see that 4 of the quests you have are in the same area. However, another quest you have leads you to an area far from those 4 quests. So essentially when you can be doing 4 quests, you may be only doing 1... Read, they teach you shit in school for a ****ing good reason. SO YOU CAN ADVENTURE IN AZEROTH
3.) Know how your class works, know what it can and cannot do by itself. Read over every spell in your spell book and new spell that you recieve and use them all regularly. The more you know about your own class, the better you're prepared if you every are in a tight spot, (lots of murlocs zerging).
For example.
Hunters as we all know, are the most op class in terms of solo pve. (starting to become prevalent in pvp as well.... again)
This is why hunters are the fastest class to level with solo. There was a reason Brian Kopp leveled as a hunter, a hunter is able to solo red elite quests by itself if played properly. They also gain a major mobility buff when hitting 20, and is able to run to quest npcs/zones quicker than other classes. With little downtime due to having a pet that can tank and having plenty of ranged damage.
A class like a priest however... may have some more difficulty in doing such things.
4.) WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING
If you aggro one mob, don't run around a tree only to find that there's another mob with friends just waiting to give you durability loss. Have your camera zoomed out a bit and always be aware of your surroundings.
IMPORTANT
When fighting a mob, don't let others sneak up on you. Seriously, after killing as many things after level 8 you'd think you would've memorized your damage rotation by now...
These are just examples of damage rotations, not the best mind you.
Rogue: CS>Gouge>KS>SS>SS>SS>evis
Warrior: Charge>HS>HS>
Lock: DOTS, MORE DOTS FEAR
ect
So with a good dps rotation memorized, it really is not neccessary to look at your tooltips for fear, sinister strike, frost bolt, ect every time your fighting a mob. Instead, watch your back, sides, and everything in between when in combat. This way if theres a mob coming towards you, you'll have time to move away and finish the mob your currently fighting.
5.) Don't Die.
No seriously, don't die. Dieing in wow is BAD. Every time you die your lose grinding/questing time. Dieing sets you back further than you think. It also cuts into your money. Money you could've used to by food, water, arrows, or bags.
6.) Prepare ahead of time.
If your out in the middle of hellfire penninsula and you just notice your running out of arrows, food, water, your gears turning red, or maybe all of the above... Just make sure to pay attention to the basic needs of your character, otherwise your gonna make a fool of yourself, like this fellow

7.) Leveling professions slow you down. No, that underwater breathing helmet looks dumb as hell, and won't help you level faster. Focus on leveling. Once your 70 you will be able to level professions to 375 in a day. Don't waste your time at level 40something trying to find the mats for a measly 10 skills in blacksmithing or whatever profession your on.
